Anegada Beach Club

Anegada Beach Club

Just back after a long weekend on Anegada, I am ready to go back. We stayed on the North shore, Keel Point, to be exact, at the Anegada Beach Club. This BVI destination, just a little over a year old, it is still finding its feet among the older established restaurant/hotels on the island. The resort is simple and gives off a very laid-back vibe. The rooms are large and spacious with comfortable beds – this was our third time there and each time everyone commented how great the beds and the pillows were. We even went as far as to take the cases off to see where the pillows came from – just our luck they removed the tags.

On the grounds there is a volley ball court, basket ball court and a pool. Yes, a pool. Modest in size and only 4 feet deep it is just enough for a quick dip to cool off if you do not want to be far from the bar. They serve 3 meals a day and the bar is open all day. The food was excellent and the Cracked Conk was the best that I have had in a long time.

to the beachThe one and only downside is that there is no view of the beach from the bar. A short 2 minute walk down a sandy path over the dunes takes you to a seemingly never-ending white sand beach. I like to get up at sunrise to walk the beach with coffee in hand. The perfect start to a day. (In each room is a coffee maker with sachets of coffee and tea provided plus a refrigerator to keep your beverages chilled)

The Anegada Beach Club also welcomes day trippers. From Setting Point, a free beach club shuttle will pick you up from their welcome center and take you cross the island where you can spend the day. On Saturday nights they show movies on the outdoor big screen. This not only attracts island visitors but the local Anegada population, as they have never had the luxury of a movie theater like the main island of Tortola.

Anegada Beach Club is well worth the visit next time you find yourself on Anegada.
